lebanese nightSour human race is a disgrace ♀

Hello =)

My name is Layal(aka nightS). I am a Female, Lebanese, Web Developer, Editor at RTL This, MENA Author and Arabic Lingua Translator at Global Voices Online…interested in anything social/technical in the Middle East. Yon can follow my posts through my RSS feed.

Only five days after the World Day Against Cyber Censorship, the Lebanese government decided to keep up with its neighbors in the Arab World. Its first attempt was with the Lebanese blogger Khodor Salameh, aka jou3an -hungry in Arabic- because of a post he wrote about the president. They demanded him to change his tone, close his blog or just stick to poetry or he might be prosecuted!

I’m speechless and furious!!!

Lebanon, Welcome to Threatened Voices!*

*Threatened Voices is a project of Global Voices  to defend the free online speech, it’s a:

A collaborative mapping project to build a database of bloggers who have been threatened, arrested or killed for speaking out online and to draw attention to the campaigns to free them.

      I didn’t find any details unfortunately. They threatened him with prosecution of defamation that’s all I know. You can ask Hanibaael I’m sure he knows about the details. Or ask Jou3an himself.
